Hi.. does most of u use this product? is it better than using test kit? Thot of buying it for my tank.

I'm using it. I wouldn't substitue my test kit for the ammonia alert thing...but I put it there as a first line of defence/warning system for me. (=

actually, it was left over from the cycling days four to five months back. *shrugs*

okie.. but what abt the effectiveness? is it good? me have the same intention" first line of defence." Coz me having a nano tank.. so veri prone to amm attack if it is not handled carefully.

I think by the time the ammonia alert picks up traces of ammonia in your nano tank, it may be too late.

I think Seachem's website has information regarding the latitude at which the colours will change. you may want to check that out to help you make a more informed decision. (=

The product is quite good. I use it for both my 1 ft nano tank and 2 ft tank. However its not this design. Its another one by Seachem with a 'shark cartoon character' on it with only 3 color indicators: yellow, green and blue.

(at least for me it works)
