Just want to know how you connect the chiller

sump to chiller to sump...

want to do sump to chiller to main but the pump head loss will be too overwhelming... reducing the output too much and thus will result in inefficient cooling... <_<

Just how much head loss will you lose by using the output to return to main?

Actually I do not encourage people using high flowrate pumps for the return as it totally defeats the purpose of a sump (worse still for those with refugiums). Yes, there is high flow-thru but i would sacrifice that for longer dwell time in the sump.

What's wrong with sumps with high flow rates? It's fuges with high flow rates that don't work well....

It depends on how you see it

From my point of view, if there is too much water flow in the sump, it only acts as an increase in the total volume of water.

Different people have different views so i think that research is VERY important to ensure you are using the sump at 100% effieciency.

As for fuges, I am currently trying out a new design where there is high flowrate on 1 half and low flowrate on the other and each half will have Grade 0 and Grade 1 sand respectively.

Any details of the head loss from output of chiller to return to main? i do not want to have too many pumps working
