Hai cheong have the very small plastic ball valve but it cost $21.

There are also the water control valve like the gardena unit should cost around $5(not GARDENA) if i'm not wrong.

The ones thc mentioned at Hai Cheong at $21 are the ASAHI valves....top quality and i am using one for my skimmer. If you want cheaper ones, then have to go for Gardena valves, made in Germany, most German calcium reactors, skimmers, kalk mixers etc uses them....

Nobody is selling them in Singapore as far as I know......Got my from Germany and also limited stock, only managed to get a few packets as stocks there are also running low....

If you making the becketts, suggest you get the ASAHI's as they are bigger and are easier to control using only one hand. Whereas the Gardenas will need 2 hands to set, one to hold the valve body and one to turn the knobs and also depend on you pump power, you may end up with max 'throttle' and still not enough, whereas the ASAHIs are much larger and can cope with the demands.

IMHO

Hi Blueheaven,

I have used both Gardena and the so called cheaper versions for both my CR and Skimmer applications...

and they are actually rather precise since they are also used for CR effluent drips rate ...

Only issue in that due to poorer QC, a certain small percentage has slight leaks....

Jus run one on your skimmer and if it post any problems, change to another one...
