Feeding with overflow

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

My friend asked me how do you guys feed your fishes when the overflow consistently skimes water off? Won't the food be sucked off by the overflow?

As I do not have an overflow currently, I cannot give him an accurate answer. Pls share your views

For me I when I feeding Mysis or pellets, I will usually leave it on cuz by the way the food reaches the water surface the fishes would already grab them - No time to reach the IOS. :D

However, when I have feeding BBS, Rotifer, Phyto or Zoos, I will switch it off loh. ;)

feed them bit by bit... then u can assure that excess food not be put into the tank and the fishes will finish the food before the overflow suck them in ..

thats wat i do .. then u can monitor the fishes at the same time ..

Same here, feed with overflow on...only stuff that goes out is the floating stuff, but with my fan blowing outwards, no chance of the floaters reaching overflow...(I know, also prevents bad stuff going down, but oh well...)
