blueheaven
Hi guys, My friend asked me how do you guys feed your fishes when the overflow consistently skimes water off? Won't the food be sucked off by the overflow? As I do not have an overflow currently, I cannot give him an accurate answer. Pls share your views Quote But if you tame me, we shall need each other. Gouldian
For me I when I feeding Mysis or pellets, I will usually leave it on cuz by the way the food reaches the water surface the fishes would already grab them - No time to reach the IOS. However, when I have feeding BBS, Rotifer, Phyto or Zoos, I will switch it off loh. Quote "Reefs, like forests, will only be protected in long term if they are appreciated" Dr. J.E.N. SRC Member rockfish Posted May 3, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted May 3, 2004 feed them bit by bit... then u can assure that excess food not be put into the tank and the fishes will finish the food before the overflow suck them in .. thats wat i do .. then u can monitor the fishes at the same time .. SRC Member Siput Posted May 3, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted May 3, 2004 Same here, feed with overflow on...only stuff that goes out is the floating stuff, but with my fan blowing outwards, no chance of the floaters reaching overflow...(I know, also prevents bad stuff going down, but oh well...) SRC Member delirium Posted May 3, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted May 3, 2004 Just dip your fingers in with the food and release. It will sink down. If you sprinkle it on the water surface then it will just float around. Pls dont try this with lion fish.
