I think u dont know about electrical appliances especially precision devices like compressors.

$350 is considered a good price but u cant say its very damn cheap.

A new one is bout 2k, yes but its 1.5 yrs old. New things means unused but once used, even 1 day, means used item. And if u selling the used item, at new price, who will buy? So prices will drop every single day. Especially precision mechanicals spare parts will worn out in time so wont be as efficient as new. Warranty plays a part on the price too and warranty means money invested in the chiller for free replacements on faulty items.Items which are still in warranty period has high prices but after the warranty period expired, the price will drop tremendously. Furthermore, 1.5yrs old compressor need servicing and this means money and lower performances. So u still have to compare with other type of chiller brands too.

Europeans brands usually has better quality but they still will breakdown. So the buyers will have to consider which to go for. So $350 + servicing cost is still a good price compared to asian brands but its not considered very damn cheap.

pray tell you do know that there was a second hand unit, around 2 years old being sold for $800.

I bought one that was one year old for around $900.

so like I said. please do a bit more research before you put in your comments. like I mentioned on another thread, its becoming very distasteful and personally, I don't find it amusing or funny.

yes we all know that electronics do wear out. yes we all know that electronics have a much lower second hand retail value. we all know that. I wasn't born yesterday, and neither are many of the reefers within this forum itself. if you can't accept the fact that somebody is selling the chiller for that price, then live with it. instead of putting the seller and potential buyer down with your often sarcastic comments.

like jd_n pointed out to you. you're not talking about some kuching kurak made in timbuktu brand. its a Teco. to use an analogy, second hand Rolexes, though wouldn't cost as much as a new one, still cost heck a lot more than you can afford. so am I right to say that its a completely rip off price?

at the end of the day, whether the seller wants to sell it at $1 or $100 its entirely up to him. and your comments about it being expensive, if justifiable, is more than welcome. but in this case, I doubt its HARDLY justifiable.

so you're saying that other chillers aren't expensive lah? the mechanical parts that is? its the same. a battery is a battery. a radiator is a radiator. a fuel cap is a fuel cap. the prices vary few and far between.

wooh.... that too bloody cheap. the seller loosing too much money. 1.5 yrs still worth at least 8-900.... though 1.5 yrs old, teco last much longer than other brands. from this model's reputation, people using more than 5 yrs still no problem. so congrats to whoever got the deal!! i using one. but wont mind buying this one for 350. can then sell mine for higher and make money!! ke ke... just kidding!!
