SRC Member acodestny Posted June 21, 2019 SRC Member Share Posted June 21, 2019 How time flies... in a blink of an eye... my tank is turning 1 year old... jumped into the “dark side” with limited Budget, got a second hand set up and ran with it...not the most fanciful of tank but I enjoyed the journey, made new frens, lost some corals, did some minor upgrades, made some changes. Now I am taking the next step, to invest in a new tank that can last me for the next 5-8years... After much research, I ended up with DE for my next tank build placed my order and look forward to getting my tank on 1 Aug! Below is the build I am going 1. 4ft(l) x 2.5ft(w) x 2ft(h) 2. Maxspect turbine duo 9k 3. 2 x Maxspect gyre 330 4. 1 maxspect light to be supported by 2 Orhpek OR bars 5. A haliea 1/2hp chiller 6. Reef octopus skimmer 7. Nyos 2.0 reactor 8. Skimz calcium reactor 9. Bubble Magnus auto roll 10. Carbisea live sand and rocks I am sticking to running full AF products in my upcoming tank after 6 months of good experience with their products... I have a JBJ Aractica chiller 1/5hp to let go on 31 Jul... asking for 300 dollars... if keen can pm me Will update when my stuff comes Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

SRC Member acodestny Posted August 6, 2019 Author SRC Member Share Posted August 6, 2019 My new tank finally up and running... This tank set up is not without its ups and down... the whole set up took 3 days before anything could go in... Cabinet came in and chiller couldn’t go in, they made the adjustment, putting in sand rock, water and let it stabilise! Set up all my equipment, drill in all my Controllers and doing wiring management... Thks to Van bro for his help as well... otherwise I think the tank is still not running yet haha Also! My Orphek lights came and got set up! Now running it on aclimatising program... I must say I am very impressed how 1 unit can cover my 4ft tank... my 2 supplement light OR2 bars will just Ensure my 2.5ft Wide tank is properly covered... planned to on them when my sps are in. SRC Member sleexox Posted August 6, 2019 SRC Member Share Posted August 6, 2019 Is the chiller sufficient for a 4 by 2.5 tank? How long does it take to cool 1 degree?
SRC Member acodestny Posted August 6, 2019 Author SRC Member Share Posted August 6, 2019 Yes the chiller so far so good. Typically it kicks in and out within 15-30mins? I did not monitor but the problem is I just find it a tat noisier den my old chiller... Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
