Is this a shroom? And is it dangerous if it's not?

Have a hitchhiking shroom looking object in my tank I hope you guys can help identify...

Looks a little too textured to be a shroom and furthermore it has little sharp protrusions around its circumference (not very obvious from pic) which makes it look evil..

How? What's the verdict.. shroom or not shroom.. safe or not safe...

what's a discoma shroom?

It's not a skeleton.. more like tiny soft protrusions... still looks evil if you ask me... it was very near my maze brain till I moved it, wonder if that was what caused it to receed....

Many types of mushrooms exist. Examples are ricordia yumas, ricordia floridas, rhodactis, discomas, etc.

yep definitely discosomatidae... I have them on my LR as well... came with the LR... exact same type.

Eh just read online that the discoma shroom is deadly to stony corals!! EEKS!! maybe that's why my maze bleached.. coz it was near this shroom!!

They stings... But relatively safe if no LPS or SPS goes near it...
