note: greyish dots represents kalk

the pump/powerhead will be connected to a tubby....when the tubby is at work (topping up), the water will be pumped into the bottle at the bottom, causing the the kalk to stir a little...the water will overflow from the top of the bottle and hopefully only the clear solution, and not the undissolved kalk...the bottle used will be as tall as possible...probably a 1.5ltr pepsi bottle...if not i might use this kind of bottle

my evaporation rate is about 3-5ltrs a day, so i presume 3-5ltrs of water will be activated to stir the kalk to produce the clear solution....i know constant stiring(like a kalk reactor) will be most appropriate but poor man here....so have to do it this way.....

any comments???

bottle too small.. a bit risky if the undissolved kalk gets into the tank..

Why not just use opaque PVC.. dirt cheap... then connect with translucent tubing to see the kalk solution running so as to know when to top up?

My DIY kalk reactor is also opaque PVC just I didn't incoporate the translucent piping... when do I top up kalk then... This one I'm still wondering... but it seems like once every few weeks looks alright...

bro, can't see your kalk reactor in the pic....too dark....does your kalk reactor use a PH to circulate the water?? i am quite lousy at tat, nvr seem to be able to make it water tight....

yup uses a powerhead.. it's a rena flow 300 I think... slow flow good to ensure that the undissolved kalk doesn't accidentally reach the top..

How to make it water tight? Hm... clamps are one, superglue, silicone the usual stuff.. it took me a long time to get it water tight.. but now after building it I know how to do it... just did my skimmer in pretty mucht he same way...

Attached a sponge type at the bottle top to prevent any undissolved kalkwasser from overflowing into sump.

Just a tot....
