hammer and frogspawn coral

hi guys,read somewhere that hammer and frogspawn coral cannot touch each other as they might sting each other,regardless of hammer and hammer or hammer and frogspawn..

but i came across an article that mention that

"They can be kept in contact with others in the same family such as frogspawn coral."

so can they be together or not?

From what I experience in my tank is that

frogspawn and frogspawn is ok.

Hammer and Hammer is ok.

Frogspawn and Hammer not ok.

most of them are immune to their own species' stings....juz like a scorpion will not die if they accidentally sting themselve....but they are not prepared to accept stings from other species....since your tank is so big, i suggest u have seperate corners for each species....

eg: a hammer corner, bubble site and frogspawn area....

frogspawn and frogspawn

bubble and bubble..

but not hammer with frogspawn

or hammer with bubble ya?

need to do rescape again! sigh~

hmm... IME, frogspawn and hammer is ok... they are from the same genus, Euphyllia, and are immune to stings from corals of the same genus... This includes frogspawn hammer, torch etc.
