Hi guys, these are the tentative plans for my 4ft "Reef Heaven"

Tank specs:

4ft by 2ft by 2.5ft

12mm Glass

Side Overflow with 1 Durso Standpipe and 1 return pipe

3ft by 1.5ft by 2ft sump+refugium

Lighting:

2x250watt 10k BLV MH

1x150 watt 20k BLV MH

Water Movement:

1 Tunze Turbelle Stream 6060

Return from sump

Filtration:

DIY Beckett Skimmer

DIY Rowaphos Reactor

Miscellaneous:

MD 55 pump for skimmer

Ehiem 1260 for return

3 tangs..... i think thats way to much........ leave out achilles tang till your tank gets mature enough... BTW if youinted to have sps den i believe stronger wattage is needed(those you mention shouldbe ok) and a cl- 650 can never cool down your tank with stronger lighting intended for sps

Yah the Achilles will come only after a year or so.....

Won't plunge into SPS immediately as I want to work from bottom up

The first half will have high flow from my skimmer output and the grade 1 sand will promote pods(I hope)

The macroalgae there will also be more than the second half

The second half is mainly to encourage microbial life but I put the macroalgae there too just in case the sandbed accumulates too much heavy metals.

If got space, I would also want to try a Cryptic Refigium

Will switch to 14k bulbs when my corals grow to suitable size
