Vitamin supplement

I use Zoe Marine from Kent. Read that Zoecon is just as good.

Zoe Marine: Kent Zoe is a superior vitamin complex for Marine Fish, Invertebrates, and desirable algae. (Zoe does not contain phosphates as most competing vitamin supplements do, and will not cause unsightly algae growth!) It contains aquaculture grade vitamins, meaning that they are still active after one year in your aquarium! It is unique because it also contains natural minerals from spirulina and kelp sources. Competing products are preserved with glycerin, which is an alcohol and requires 50% concentration to preserve. Zoe is properly preserved, using less than ½% preservatives, yet has a 4 year shelf life with no refrigeration. Just smell the difference!

Zoecon: Diets deficient in omega-3 fatty acids can promote head and lateral line erosion (HLLE) syndrome in freshwater and marine fishes. Zoecon provides essential marine omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. Enriches foods for saltwater and freshwater fishes. Contains shark liver oil, which contains natural immune system stimulants. Useful in raising fish and invertebrate larvae, as well as fortifying live food for juvenile and adult fishes and invertebrates. Phosphate and nitrate free, and contains no yeast or sugars!

I saw one at Petmart selling: by Boyds', the manufacturer of Chemi-pure carbon...issit good? (it goes at 412 per small bottle, so I'd like to have someone who has tried it to recommend ya?)

Also, I see the guys in RC recommending Selcon, and it seems that it is good for enriching food and adding to the tank direct for feeding...where can i get this in SGP? But my guess is that it probably is NOT sold in SGP :(

Vita Chem.

Not all that great. Cheap vitamin supplements work about the same.

Wow, so fast so many replies! Aiyah, those so-called fish R&D intensive or professional feeds and products are mostly just self-proclaimed, i guess...Anything goes when u buy something dats liquid and hasnt been fully rated yet (by official sources...)

Hmm sorry, i meant $12, Bawater (hahah really a hazard to post replies late in the night!!!)

So from wat u guys say its not much of a diff for the various brands? Wat do u all recommend then? Cheap and Good one? :heh: Where to get them?

I have been soaking food in home-made garlic about 3-4 times a week.

Am considering alternating this with vitamin supplements.

Does anyone have any experience/opinion on vitamin supplements (like Selcon?)?

Thanks.

BTW, I did a search in this site but turned out nothing.

Does your self made garlic suppement works ? does it polloute the water ?

i have heard good things about garlic marine fishes, but the "Kent garlic supplement" is selling @ $65 per bottle !!!!

Larry,

Frankly I don't know if its working, and if its working, is it working well? I guess its one of those controversial stuff along with how frequent should water change be.... how deep should a DSB be .... and so on and so forth.

Your next question - no it doesn't pollute the water - if by pollution you mean water clarity is reduced.

Does it do any harm - I guess not since nothing bad has happened.

At the end of the day - its your opinion and your choice.

I don't believe in sending good money to line someone else's pocket or use commercial stuff if I can get comparable stuff at a far more decent price. A few pieces of garlic blended gets you so much for so little cents.

HQX has good ideas on alternatives - iodine and vit C. I'll be trying them his suggestions.

hmmm good point there, but its hard to know how much to use and how often, when it comes to self-made supplements? Also, the quality and process of preparation is i think critical, especially when it comes to vitamins and stuff, as they become ineffective or are killed very easily and quickly?

Do teach us some if u have mastered the art of self-made supplements ya? :thanks:
