Reefers

Have anybody have any idea as how to bring down silicate besides the following.

Changing of water

Rowaphos - to bring down Phosphate

AZ-NO3 - to bring down Nitrates

?????? - to bring down Silicate

Silicate can result in diatom bloom and can block some essential trace elements such as vanadium and molybdenum

Please advise, thx

I am experiencing the same problem with silicate. Whenever I changed water, I will always have diatoms bloom, it will usually subside in about two week but unfortunately that is also the time I need to do water change again. :(

I am contemplating using RO but feel that it is to ex for me. Any bro here can advise? :)

:thanks:

Hi,

Mine Diatom dosen't go off, instead it spread and when lights is off its seem better but when lights is on, it slowly comes back again. duno wat to do???? I'm changing water every week but no improvement. Hope some bro can advise. Thanks

Extend the use of Actinic lightings and cut back on white lights......feed less, introduce a black sea cuke and algae blenny.

Well..from the last time I dumped a $60+ bottle of rowa into my sump...seems to be working..no more diatom bloom. Still will have slight growths on the glass and sand though, especially after water change. But normally clears up after 2-3 days.

Always something more important than fish.
