Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app The sediment & carbon filters can generally last for 6 months. The membrane - probably 2 years (they say). Then finally, the DI resin lifespan will depend on the quality of all the filters before it. A few months, maybe. Fortunately, all these can be easily and affordably replaced. just do a TDS check after every batch of water made. If it's no longer 0, it's time to change your filter(s). Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app Madpetz (Ang Mo Kio) sell them for $15 per 25 liters. This is good for big water changes, and you don't have the time / facilities to generate a huge amount of water in your home. Just pick up in store. Make sure to pre order first. 王曼綺
Relating to RODI, i was told that a LPS tank only need RO water, DI will be too clean for LPS to thrive. Any truth in that?
SRC Member Indeco Posted April 14, 2019 SRC Member Share Posted April 14, 2019 Relating to RODI, i was told that a LPS tank only need RO water, DI will be too clean for LPS to thrive. Any truth in that? Don't think so, normally pple will see the TDS of the water. 0 is the best.If TDS too high then will cause diatom and other algae issue. Any truth in that? Not true. People probably referring to water too clean for lps is when they run a ultra low nutrient system than the lps starts to starve. I have been using di only for my tank as rodi produces lots of waste water. I feel very wasteful.
