Using chiller to bring down temperature

Hi my tank is 5x 1.5x2.5 feet 

 

im using a Hailea HS-90a chiller 1/2 hp

 

may I know how Long will it take to bring down temperature from 28 to 25 degree ?

im not sure where my info will help u but i own a 4x1.5x1.5ft tank with Hs-90a chiller. It took less than an hr fro 30c to 25c.

my original temperature is around 27-28 degrees Celsius 

 

but it last night I tried to set the chiller temperature to 25 deg,

this morning only saw the thermometer hovers around 26 deg

 

whereas the chiller hovers 26-27 deg

 

why is it so ?

Is your chiller temp and the tank temp the same?

normally chiller and tank temp will have different so if you want more accurate temp you can do calibration on your chiller to make the temp variance smaller, then it will cool down to the temp you want and also less fluctuation.

if not just set chiller temp to 24 and you should be getting tank temp at 25

Managed to lower the temperature already 

 

with slow water flow

 

cos my initial flow was fast

26 C is a good temp if you having reef tank, don’t worry about it, try to maintain good flow, I am using 90A as well

next question , will lowering the tank temperature reduces the chances of getting white spots in fishes ?

At 24-25 C no, fish can handle that, I kept my temps at 24-25 for 5 months and fish were healthy too, but they need active Swimming space,
corals don’t grow fast at 24-25 C but they Color up well too, may be right lighting helps them to grow fast.

Hi 

 

I changed to external temperature probe cos previously my tank water cannot be kept cold.

 

after changing to external probe, now it can be kept cold.

 

however to chill 1 degree down, it took more than 1.5 hours

 

may I know what should I do?
