SRC Member Petri Cha Posted August 8, 2018 SRC Member Share Posted August 8, 2018 I recently purchased a few fish and introduced it to my 4ft tank. 2 clown fish 1 yellow tang 1 flame angel 2 yellow tail 2 purple fire fish (All small in size) All my other fishes seems to be okay and adapting well swinging freely. But my firefish have been hiding since day one. It’s has bee nearly a week and still hiding, initially the first few days I tried to flip rocks to find them and they did come out. But they eventually went back in to hide. So I went to check online and they say do not care bout them let them get use to surrounding and they will be comfortable. But now it’s nearly a week and I haven’t seen them coming out. I start to worry as I don’t know are they eating or how are they doing. I have also tried turning off the wave maker to see will they come out but they didn’t. What should I do? And do they eat palette food or frozen? Please help me as I’m starting to get worried Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

SRC Member Komerider Posted August 8, 2018 SRC Member Share Posted August 8, 2018 To choose firefish that tend to stay in the water column, at the LFS. Approach the fire fish tank. Get the one that doesn't seem to be bothered. I used this method and got the one that just remained nonchalant when I approached. Came out within 5 mins. And within no time doesn't go into hiding at all. Also make sure there are no aggressors..It's mostly finished especially against midas blenny I believe.Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

In due time, once acclimated to its surrounding, they will be out very often. My dejongi and candy hid for more than a month, thereafter it's always out in the open. It's just the characteristic of some fishes. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
