Brown slimy & jelly stuff on my softies

Recommended Posts

Due to suspected high NO3 buildup, some of my softies (mushies, frog spawn, bubble) have refused to open. After 3x 30% water changed, only my bubble is back to normal (NO3 is now 10-20). Noticed that one mushy and a branch each of frog spawn and hammer is now dying due to a brown jelly like substance growing on it. What is this stuff and what can be done to prevent it from spreading to other branches.

Thanks. I have cut off the affected branches and have not seen it the last couple of days. However, I noticed that my coralline is turning whitish on the tank side esp on the upper most level. Is this due to water temperature as this is nearest to the T5 lightings ? Temp is hovering at 30-31C nowaday
