2ft height tank using PL light

Hi all reefers,I'm posting this on behalf of a friend.Using PL lights white bulb 55W with 12000K & Aqua blue 55W.Is it suitable 4 a 2ft height tank?Thanks.

what you intend to keep... but if for reef , anything more then 2feet ,it is better to use MH..in the long run .it is more cheaper and benefits you.,..if just normal fish only tank...this lighting will be just enough for viewing pleassure...correct me if i am wrong/.

i think it's not enuf....pl lights do not have the intensity to go thru the height.ur fren might wanna consider MH...unless it is only a FOWLR tank....

Seriously bro, lexplain to ur fren tat 2x55W PL = 110W. Only 40W difference from a 150W MH. Juz 40W more of lighting is not gonna cost him much and if it really does...then how is he going to maintain this hobby which will most probably ended up being a bottomless pit.

yah man....u are rite....

40W won't make much of a diff....maybe about $2-4 a mth if u switch it on for 8hrs a day...
