i that time put my topic about my angel having the white spot . he only have the white spot till for a week , heng didnt give my other fish white spot .

angel was eating quite well even though the white spot is there. did feed him garlic almost everyday. just today morning, found his face very sick like ulcers and big patch of white thing on his body :( .It is the Secondart infection.... . i try to feed him, but all my fishes eat but he didnt eat. stay one corner. too bad i caught him and throw him away coz i scared when his ulcers are open, it will infect others :cry2: . he also quite weak already. i thought i can cure him coz he eating with food mix with garlic guard.... , but no avail. his body spots did go down , but the infection came to the angel . . i bought from a Lfs in bukit timah road.

i want to know whether buying from a LFS or a sgreef member better? i got a rabbitfish from mr nicceeee, and my rabbitfish is doing quite well. but i heard that the LFs at bukt timah road is prone not selling quality fishes. not i want to critising, but that is i heard. my mum say dont buy from there already........ .

So wether buying a fish from reef members or LFs is better? what do u all say ?

Proper aclimatisation helps and good food tends to heighten the chances, but sometimes the fishes maybe collected via cynide method...the damage done to fish may only become visible after a while...

By throwing away an infected fish (if alive) can be very cruel...you might want to consider and set up a qurantine tank for the new fishes .... :nc:

but i heard that the LFs at bukt timah road is prone not selling quality fishes.

Cant really condemn a shop totally..but it would be wise for the buyer to take time to check out the holding tanks' condition...the alertness of the fishes and check whether they are healthy and preferably eating.... ;)

Buying from reefers is a good alternative...they are usually cheaper too(weird logic since they have already qurantined the fellow for you already :P )

You can check out Coral Farm for quality fishes ....they do aclimatise fishes and the q-tanks' water run thru powerful UVs to kill off floating parasites... their fishes are usually eating pellets by the time reefers buy them.....(then again...what happens after it reaches your tank is another thing..like aclimatisation process, water parameter, food, hositility from other established LS.........)

Hope this is helpful to you :nc:

If I had to throw away a fish while it was still alive I would kill it quickly before doing so. Steps include a hard blow to the skull or slow freezing in the freezer. For inverts I remember killing a diadema sea urchin before. I simply placed in pure freshwater and soon the water turned brownish red and the fella died in a matter of secs.

Always something more important than fish.

i also killed a clown deliberately before...it got stuck in my PH for about 1min....by the time i took it out, the body was contoured weirdly and it looks in pain....i took it out and threw him hard on the sink and killed it instantly, though it was a very painful experience for me but i had to do it as i knew it won't survive, so y let it suffer further....

:cry2:
