an update to my tank....

added a huge refuge outside my house.....

juz fixed all the pipes and now packing it up.... drills and stuff....

wat is the refuge use for ?

Agree with calciumreef. With such nice house, you should custom make a fiberglass tank for the refugium. Will looks really impressive.

rainwater may actually cause dilution of saltwater itself. so be careful. that is if you have a big whopping amount of rainfall in one day, and this being Singapore, that possibility is quite high.

terrance... no worries.... tested through 2 rainy nights liaoz.... not much water level increase.... guess the tub is pretty sheltered from rain.... directly above the tub is a awning anyway....

With such a large surface area, you might have to watch your evap. Also, might not be easy to run a chiller with a huge water volume. Interesting idea though. I would run a HUGE fuge too if I could

hmm okay. also another consideration would be to get an almighty chiller. try the Artica 1hp one. you so rich, surely can afford lah. some more can play tennis under sponsorship that time. SURELY must have saved SOME money.

With such great volume of water, the water condition will be ultra stable....heaven for corals.....

wonder can your chiller do the cooling of the sump,imagine the hot season.. i think the salinity will be a big problem, sometimes it rains 7days aweek for at least 10hrs,sometimes it doesnt rain for 2weeks at all.. that is a major problem i think..

the tub is plastic... dun think will crack or give way.... yes... its warping... prob due to sand and salt water.... but it seems to be quite stable so far....

so far... my 1/2hp pacific coo chiller running without probs..... i am considering upgrading to bigger chiller.... but not sure... my minister of finance now on overseas trip to build better relations with other countries.....
