DLTN
How are you doing my fellow reefers! I’m new to this hobby and I have a question to ask before I do anything else to my tank. I am intending to keep a reef but I have no rodi unit. Does Seachem Prime work instead? Anyone has had any issue with prime and reef aquarium before? SRC Member Lecky Posted May 29, 2018 SRC Member Share Posted May 29, 2018 Seachem Prime only remove chlorine and chloramine from the water. The output is far different from the water from RO/DI unit.Seachem Prime is akin to those anti-chlorine solution. If u intend to keep a reef tank, RO/DI water is preferred. You can purchase it from LFS. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
stormrider
Alternatively, i had use distill water from ntuc. So far, it seems okay with the 3 lps corals n fish.
Kris
Agree. Pls use RODI water with 0 TDS. Sometimes I will go until 2 to 3 TDS knowing that I am replacing for my filters soon. As we move along in reefing, we are eliminating the question on water quality with RODI and able to focus on other issues, if there is any problem.Happy reefing.
