Birdnest

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if it is recommended to frag the lower branches as they tend to get shaded by the upper branches...

If I were to frag the lower branches, what fragging equipment would I need? I tried breaking off before using my fingers but then it was virtually impossible..do I need a wirecutter or something?

Always something more important than fish.

Watever u can lay ur hands on. Sissors, wirecutter, Plyers....

Hmmm..if use wirecutter will end up with a clean break right? I scared it might put too much stress on the tissue then later rtn or stn... :pinch:

Eh....tat depends on how careful u r. Juz dun leave it out of water for too long. Cuttin and stressin...very unlikely, juz get a good hold of the base and cut wherever u wan or the best is to cut them under water

It can be very hard to break off a birdsnest branch cleanly. You'll probably end up with a few frags.

You can try using two needlenose pliers at the same time. One to grip the base of the branch and the other to break off the upper part. :)

I just frag my birdsnest 2 weeks ago for the second time. I frag the bottom part. They are not easy with wirecutter cause I end up with more frags than I am suppose to. Somehow, they dont break where you want them. Then I use a plant cutter to cut away bit by bit then use a plyer to grip it and twist. It broke at the place I first chip. :D The same applies to the thicker branches. Do it under water. The first time I frag, I do it out of the water in a sink. Frags flies all over the place. Even down the sink hole  . Now I know better.
