Sps turning brown

Hi, would appreciate any advise that can render .

my tank is 4ft. started 25 March.

Latest reading 

kh- 9.5

mg-1280

ca- 430

no3- yellow (0)

using Red Sea salt.

2 wks ago , no3 spiked to 40ppm and dosed Red Sea nopox and Carbon to bring it down.

but sps are turning brown .

Appreciate any advise as to what happen to the tank.

Sorry, didn’t have po4 test kit .No measure po4.

Just measured PO4 and its 10ppm

No3 - 0

Any advise to reduce PO4?

Well usually sps turning brown is because nutrient in your tank is way to high... are you sure your po4 is 10 ppm ?... what test kit are you using ?

Please at least get Salifert to test your po4. Api has rubbish test kit for everything except for ammonia and nitrite.

You can use gfo/rowaphos in a reactor

if you wanna accurately test po4 you can get the hanna checker phosphorus ulr (ultra low range)

Don’t think the Hanna checker ulr will be able to detect 10ppm

i doubt it PO4 is 10 ppm ....its best to recheck and yes RUN a GFO in a reactor
