Weekly LFS update 30th April to 6th May

My flame hawk is from them.. And its very fat and healthy .. Had the lil guy for a few months alrdy. Happiest purchase ever.. And staff are very friendly.

No doubt, it was because it's a flame hawk they are generally hardy. I'm sure any LFS will provide their upmost presentable best CS prior to purchase. But the question is will any premium justify to these? I've purchased a couple of livestocks from Specialised Aquatic Solutions in different times. The second purchase, being the similar fish and size with the first purchased, I was quoted a hefty 25% increase in fish. I wonder why? Perhaps a spur of moment where I wanted the fish . Bearing in mind they are in excess of the hundreds for the particular fish. Ultimately it's my choice though clearly their business model that fishes prices ain't as fixed as it seems to be. (May even be the case for blue tangs) These are just my experiences and choice. As for equipments and after sales, I'll wait for others to chime in, if any

They wanted to sell me 600 too ex for me i can get for 400 but if u like the service they give then u can buy from them if the fish they sell is with them more then a month then u pay for 20-30% is fine but if u pay 20-30% more anf the fish is only at their for 1-2days then i dont think is rrally usefull pay what u think u are ok with

Wow! Where else is selling it at 400? That's if you're kind enough to share If you're willingly to spend on livestocks, any LFS will give you their upmost best CS , especially when one is paying a premium. just choose them wisely and buy what's you're comfortable with.

Wonder how about after sales for equipments?

The trade is changing due to possible rising cost in everything. While the lfses are struggling to survive, we reefers are adapting to the new changes. Every shop has their own business strategy, so reefers have to wise to make their choices in purchasing unless vitamin M is unlimited. Hence, give your supports to those reasonable priced lfses as they are adopting fast turnover VS higher margin per sale. However, this can only go on with another few more years.

The lfs has to justify their strategy. Still remember there was a lfs selling good stuff and premium price. When ppl feedback, they will reply can export. A mistake will just make the shop history. Anyway, willing buyer and seller.

Indeed willingly seller and buyer. However, Will be interesting to hear fellow members with Positive feedbacks , if any, with Specialised Aquatic Solution other then livestocks as they do carry a wide range of products as well.

Their setup is very nice and staff are friendly. If I were to pay premium, I will go to them. Lol. Farm will slowly disappear and reefers may need to choose to go lfs that is like one stop centre. Meanwhile, the trade is evolving and unless reefers move ard to understand price, one is likely to go one lfs and buy from them. Just enjoy when the farms still ard. This hobby is likely to be mean for certain class of ppl and no longer affordable for some. With carbon tax coming, one has to think for this hobby.

I Guess other genuine LFS will be laughing their hearts out !! For the benefit of the community, Glad to hear that was history.

That's an understatement. Are you suggesting that the other LFS livestocks which serve the community are with a lower quality? hence the inflated prices?
 
Truth to be said, perform your own due diligence in conditioning your livestocks.. bearing in mind, all livestocks are perishable...
 
on another note anyone care to share their customer service or after care experiences it's nice to hear some feedback!

I’m a newbie, just chip in abit about SA. I bought 2 fishes from them. No doubt some of their fishes are priced more, I bought willingly, knowing they have been there for a few weeks and eating pellets. Too me it’s like sort of a quarantine in their tank(of course nothing is guaranteed, QT is best is we have an extra tank) Maybe it’s for convenience sake, maybe for the service. As mentioned, everyone has their business model. While price is an determinant for hardware, it may not be the same for livestock. 

Im not related to them in anyway. Just my 2 cents. Please don’t bash me. Lol
