Turn the pump on and straightaway convinced by the number of bubbles produced... it is indeed a good piece of equipment to have.... and I haven't even witness the skimmate yet!

Need advice form fellow H&S users here.... the pump keep detaching from the skimmer, there is a little curved pipe included and it doesn't seem to hold very well, little movement cause it to detach from the skimmer, is dat normal?

Vincent Ho :thanks:

Hi, I just bought my H & S skimmer a month ago but did not have a detached pipe syndrome as mentioned by you. Checked it and they are tightly secured to the main chamber. Only problem that I had to deal with was the leaking screw-in joint of the collection cup.

H & S is definitely top of the line....resale value also very high....good decision bro...

hmm.... i tot of using the white tape used for sealing paper pipes to thicken the little plastic pipe

Ha yes, I recalled the shop owner did just that when he secured the pump for me onto the main chamber. He used the same white tape for plumbing.

Forgot to mention.....only complain I have is that there is no drainage pipe connection from the collection cup. According to Sam from SL, the H&S is designed that way so that the collection cup is removed and washed. They do not recommend modification to include a drainage pipe.

Has anyone tried this?

Must say the bubbles produced really very fine and lots of it... comes highly recommended... anyway, for the benefit of those interested, mine's a 150-F2001, suitable for up to 850L, the size is about 14"x7", height about 20"... sorry, dun have exact figures liao... but you can visit this :

Dat shoudl give u a better idea and more accurate measurements...

As for the price, it's a so-called promo price of $787.

I too have the same model that Vincent does. I'm very impressed with the fine bubble produced by the skimmer. However, I find that the distance of the reaction chamber is very short, only 3-4 inches of fine bubble before it reaches the collection cup. It would be nicer if the contact time is longer. But then it will mean a taller skimmer which I cannot fit in my cabinet.

Huh? dat's very unlikely.... even if you're still cycling, should have something wat.... unless yu wash all your sand and rocks very thoroughly... but still pretty unlikely! Dat's the 1st time I hear a complaint about H&S!!!
