SRC Member Danieltwx Posted March 10, 2018 SRC Member Share Posted March 10, 2018 The one I got from farm took around a week before half of the polyps open! About 2 weeks for it to be fully open. SaltySynapse
I recently experienced my GSP close up for 2+ months only for them to come back to full strength over a period of a week. Water parameters we're consistent and nothing else changed in my tank during this period all the other coral (zoas/LPS/SPS) were healthy and growing. One therory is that the GSP may have been bothered by asterina starfish.. I've a noticed a few in my tank (I pull them out when I can). SRC Member Patrick Posted March 10, 2018 Author SRC Member Share Posted March 10, 2018 Thanks Bros for your responses. My GSP was closed after Xenia disintegrated and polluted tank when I change new rowaphos, chemipure blue n carbon. Did water change but GSP remained closed. Dosing redsea nopox now. All advice is welcomed. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
SRC Member kakak99 Posted March 10, 2018 SRC Member Share Posted March 10, 2018 Any dirt/dust or algae on it? try blow/remove. Is there any fishes keep pecking them? Else just leave it be. Probably they were stressed by tank pollution. Making the water stable will help them to reopen.

atdayahwh
Based on my past experience, GSP is light demanding coral. I moved my gsp to corner of the tank where it is close to sunlight and then next morning it fully opened.
