SRC Member LoReNsIa Posted February 19, 2018 SRC Member Share Posted February 19, 2018 Hello Brother and Sister!!! I'm back to reefing after 6 years with the help from my buddy Jem and Iceman. Reefing is so much more easier now as compare to 14 years ago when i first started. Due to my work commitment, i have to fly overseas every month for at least 8-14 days, i have to convince myself to have a small tank at home which runs almost half automatically with minimal maintenance for my dad to understand if there is anything happens with my tank. For my equipment, i have slowly upgrade along the way, and most of my equipment (including my tank) is 2nd hand. SRC Member LoReNsIa Posted February 19, 2018 Author SRC Member Share Posted February 19, 2018 After weeks of consideration if i should start a Marine tank at home, i start to source for my equipment. Manage to get my first Equipment which is a 2nd hand 1/4 Artica Chiller, was lucky that it sit nicely between my TV console and Balcony door. 2nd things that i've gotten is Live rock from Iwarna. i wash and scrub the rocks, soak it in fresh water to kill any unwanted pest and sun dry it while looking for my tank. With the dimension of my TV Console, i am so bless that IM40 is having the exact dimension that i want. Helps from all my reefing buddies to ask around if anyone is letting go of the tank, i manage to get my tank from a friendly reefer on National Day(9th of August 2017), which is also the date that i have started my tank. Leonard is a very humble and nice reefer that passes me lots of information about the tank and things that i should look out for the maintenance of this tank. He even made the effort of wrapping the tank with newspaper to prevent the clumsy me of damaging the tank. With the help of my buddy Jeremy, we have shifted the tank and let it sit nicely on top of my TV Console. SRC Member LoReNsIa Posted February 19, 2018 Author SRC Member Share Posted February 19, 2018 Next is to get a dosing pump, and i've manage to get a kamoer 4channel dosing pump for myself. Apparently the dosing pump is white in color, and it doesnt blend in with my setup, i have decided to sticker it to matt black instead. Removed the dosing pump head, paste the sticker on it... Back on rack... Got my buddy Iceman to help me DIY my acrylic box for my solution. Each Box is aproximately 2liter. These are really lovely. You’re inspiring me to get more Yumas for my tank hahahaha. Easier to propagate than many hard corals and can be just, if not more colourful. Just wondering though, how much did you get them per piece? They don’t look cheap and it’s rare that I find such brightly-coloured ones Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

Can checked with you what your tank evaporated rate per day? Where do you place your ATO? 3. Is your solution premix from powder form? Would you want to wrap your outlet piping too? May I know for your dosing schedule, how many ml did you dose from each bottle per day? How many ml a day depends on the number of SPS and the consumption that they take in a day. Different tank have different dosage. For my tank, CA i'm dosing 30ml daily with 2 separate dosing, my KH is around 60ml daily with 3 separate dosing, and my mg is also 30ml daily with 2 separate dosing. 2. Can checked with you what your tank evaporated rate per day? Where do you place your ATO? my tank is evaporating approximately 120ml a day, which i dose it in 4 different dosage as not to overwork on my dosing pump. 3. Is your solution premix from powder form? Yes, i'm currently trying NYOS CA, KH and MG after trying AF component 1+2+3 when i first started the tank. I hope that i have answer your question.
