i do not really get the picture :lol::lol:

:D:D Still sitting on 'dry' land. Need to get my ###### up to get everything going.....The tank is taking a very long time for the DC795 to cure. more than 2 weeks already.

Going to make one Rowa reactor aka deltec design and one Zeolith reactor aka Grotech design. Have to start drawing again. :D

No lah, very small tank. only 1200Lx700Wx600H mm 12mm starphire glass with no centre brace. :D

Mine same as yours about 40". If you want to make it taller, then add in another section but will have to increase your pump size for it to be effective.

Don't think its neccesary to increase the pump size due to the extension....

jus basically reduce the outflow from the Gate Valve and water level will rise to the level height required...

Basically, as long as the water pressure from a pump is enough to push thru the beckett nozzle producing enough foam.... it should be enough......

I see the extension piece for beckett skimmer as a prolong timespan for the bubbles to react....... nothing more..... ;)

taller reaction chambers do necessitate the use of a more powerful pump.. It has to do with the bubble density formed. Using a moderate pressure/flow pump pushing across a becket will create a certain volume of bubbles regardless of the containment unit (assuming head pressure or the point of injection of the becket injector is at a constant point). Having a larger, taller chamber using the same pump, simply means lower bubble density which does affect foaming. yes contact time is increased, but the foam head will be more difficult to achieve. Having an extension not only prolongs contact time, but allows the potential to have a much higher bubble density when coupled with a more powerful pump.

in short, a Ocean runner 6500 can run a 2ft diy becket skimmer with a narrow chamber..try using tt on a AF824 with the same height!. Reasons are always there when design considerations are implemented..try to rationalise and ponder more before adopting a passive standpoint of accepting it..your diy will work to your desired design! :whistle

Totally agree with Alvy on this.

And I like the statement "Reasons are always there when design considerations are implemented..try to rationalise and ponder more before adopting a passive standpoint of accepting it.." ;)
