How long did you qt them with copper and what was your procedures? did you put copper first day? or waited few days? Do u alrdy have a running qt tank? If not I would prefer to wait at least 2 weeks for the qt tank to cycle before adding copper to the tank. As I would like to wait for my filter to seed more beneficial bacteria. As copper stuns beneficial bacteria growth which might be harmful to the fish as nitrites or ammonia might start rising. Best is try to test the parameters in the qt tank a few times a week. If the levels are pretty much in the desired range can start adding copper. My naso is about 4 inch.. Poor guy. And please add a air pump. Copper really stresses them so need better oxygen circulation to aid the process of survival. Usually I will use my copper test kit to slowly raise the level to the recommended 0.5.. Takes about 1 week to reach tat level usually. Den I just leave the fishes in for 2 weeks. Didn't change water jus top up water for evaporation. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app icic.. but if you take 1 week to raise the copper to therapeutic levels (0.25 above) then dont you think the ich wil start to form cryst and multiply and the qt process will be much longer because it takes around 7-28 days for it to hatch and goes free swimming again. The thing about copper is that.. When the ich hatch out from cyst and go free swimming.. It will die immediately as there's copper in the water before it can even attach itself to the fish. Even if it manage to attach to the fish.. It will fall out aft 3 days after eating its fill and when it fall out it will either die from the copper before it can encyst.. Even if it encyst and burst out again.. It will again be in contact with the coppered water again. So yup.. Copper is the way to go for qt.
