storing of salt

I don't know if this questions falls under the General Reefkeeping catergory. I'm sorry if I infringed any rules regarding posting threads in appropirate folders.

anyways, how do you people store your sea salt? I'm a Tropic Marin user and I just leave the salt in the bag itself. recently my salt decided to harden into a block, probably due to the effects of water/water vapour.

I was wondering if its okay to store it in a big container. like a Toyogo tub with covers. I'm asking because I'm not sure if those things are air tight. and even if it is, I was thinking of using a desscant *can't spell it now. sorry* like silica gel in a plastic bag to remove the water vapour from the air inside the container itself.

is my idea feasible? or am I just dreaming?

i'm using Instant Ocean..... but recently keep buying waters from farm... only when my tank crash, i go n mix my salt... its harden too........ <_<

ah..could that be the reason? NSW can have quite a no. of microscopic dieoffs.

Always something more important than fish.

The last time I accidentally forgot to seal my Coralife Salt bag, it started to draw moisture from the air like a sponge... (Well at least I suppose it's the salt)

So much so that there was a puddle of super saline water that accumulated around the bag!! So keep your salt properly...
