SRC Member lis9090 Posted December 3, 2017 SRC Member Share Posted December 3, 2017 Hey fellow marine hobbyists, Would just like to find out if anyone has any success in keeping moorish idols? I know their diet consist mainly of sponge based materials.. any sponge based food brands to recommend and to buy from where? And they must be kept in pairs right? Thanks! SRC Member christan1959 Posted December 3, 2017 SRC Member Share Posted December 3, 2017 You'll need a big tank... more than 500 litres preferable. And they are generally not reef-safe. And start with a good specimen. Can be kept solo or as mated pair. Or in a group. As Henry about diet.

SRC Supporter Harlequinmania Posted July 9, 2018 SRC Supporter Share Posted July 9, 2018 Not the easiest fish to Keep, but you can try with feeding it with good quality pellets and gel food which seem to have good results.Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app Quote 1000 Gallon Tank in the Hole http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/topic/120957-1000-gallon-3d-hole-in-the-wall/

SRC Member PaulPaul01 Posted July 22, 2018 SRC Member Share Posted July 22, 2018 I have a friend who keeps a very healthy Moorish Idol that is fed mainly on Masstick. Even his Copperband accepts it too. They're actually really hardy once you get them eating, some of his fish developed Marine Ich but the Moorish Idol is swimming around healthy, free of any white spots as far as I know. Good luck with your Moorish IdolSent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
