Use seawater or water mix w/salt for water change?

Personally prefer to mix my own. Had some bad experiences with water from LFS, bought a bag once and found out the salinity is only 1.019, and you never know what is inside the water you buy. Safer to mix your own i guess. Salt mixes contain trace elements that will be replenished during your water changes. ;)

hi shi fus...

would like to know your opinion:

during a water change, is it better to:

1) use seawater bought from LFS or

2) mix salt in water

thanks in advance!

nothing beats wat natural has given to us...me bought a container n equip myself w a foldable troller...buy from farm....use it to change water every sun. juz to make sure that water is not overnite in a bag...bcos it will die off within two days.

also alot cheaper than mixing salt...

cheers,

first things first.

do you have any idea where the natural sea water is taken from? do you have any idea what sort of pollutants is in there? do you have any idea what sort of parasites might be living in that bag of natural sea water you just bought from some shop?

unless you have this monster of a tank that requires massive amounts of water during water change *can only think of Morgan who uses NSW I think*, using your own salt mix will be the best way to go.
