Hi friend,

maybe you have setup your aquarium wrongly ?

I have neglected my tank, treated it badly etc .... it has

never crashed on me before. It may grow lots of algae ... but

it will not crash.

Marine setup is easy but you must get proper equipment and

set it up properly.

YOu may want to consult the experienced guys here ... about your

tank setup.

Cheers

Sorry to hear about this man!!! :(

I guess you will select your next batch of LS more carefully to make sure about the compatibilities and if they all fit in the "masterplan" you have for your tank. It takes a lot of reading and research before introducing new specimens in the tank. I am constantly fighting with myself not to buy stuff which looks really nice that I have not researched... It's tough!

Also introducing them very slowly leaving weeks between new introductions gives time for adaptation and observation. it helps to limit problems. Anemones are known to move a lot before they find a place they like. good spots fo 10 anemones... :erm:

Anyway, Bad experiences are the best lessons. I'm sure your next setup will be succesful!! ;)

Monitor closely your LS, anemone normally dont just die overnight. Once you notice the anemone stop opening up and tentacles getting thinner and thinner, colours fading, you better start doing something abt it. Carbon does help to a certain extend on low toxic level but not a rotting LS.

Its better to find out more why the tank crash before restarting,..... eg, any metals inside the sand? Copper concentration due to old PUB piping? Flowrate vs sufficent filteration?.......etc

Does chemical filtration help to eradicate the problems if an anemone die ?

I think it helps but not eradicate the problem completely. I am the super KS type of guy and use SeaChem SeaGel, Chemipure, polyfilter in my tank....one day my anemone got suck into a new powerhead that i've juz install...the next day whole tank becomes milky in color...did a 50% change...lucky/unlucky on suffer 1 causalty ...

I think the best is still not to keep anemone.... :P
