thks nutx for ur detailed explanation. but as to whether the chiller lifespan will be affect with the sudden Power Off, while the compressor is still running, that's why i prefer to cut off the compressor only rather than the whole chiller.

From my limited knowledge, there is no special shutdown procedure for the compressor by the internal thermostat. The internal thermostat will just cut off the power of the compressor when the temperature is reached.

btw, i m using a cannister as an alternative to a pump for the chiller.

the way i m gonna hook up my thermostat controller will be diffenrent from urs.....

if this is the case, then whether cut off the main, or just the compressor is the same lor...

where can get the external thermostate? want to try one and adjust my chiller to operate by 2 degree, rather than the default 1 degree.
