Hmmmm.....if your tank temp. at 34~35oC, dun go for this brand.

Eido chillers using thermoelectric technology cannot work in our environment because our ambient temps are just too high. I can get Resun chillers for you guys if you are keen. Only $700 and it cools up to 300litre tanks all the way down to even 24 degrees if you like in about 2 hours initially. The best part about it is that it consumes very little power whilst cooling...only 180W max! Frankly, my power bill didn't change even after using it.

For those with larger tanks...I can check up for you on the price.

Let me know...

Talking abt portable air-con, I have a unit to let go.

Portable Air-Con for sale. S$500 neg

Why not cool yourself while cooling your tank?

Cold air comes out from the front juz like a normal air-con. At the back, the exhaust air is expelled via a flexible pipe (included) outside.

Here are the specs:

Sunshine RCS-M20000U

Specs: 7500 BTU, 660 Watts

Mounted with wheels for easy movement.

Comes with drain pipe to remove condenser water.

No... the one featured above is based on peltier technology.

The new compressor-type EIDOS I hear have problems with copper leaching and is a lot larger compared to Reef Relief/Titanium chillers.

Hi ah_d3x,

Could you provide more comments/review on this?

I'm thinking of getting this too, as I think it is one of the cheaper brand for the 1.1hp.

But some forumer said the hp is not 1.1hp, and worst still, what AT mentioned is a scary thing to happen to the tank!

May I just ask some questions (if you have the answer):

1. What is the average time to reduce from 28 to 25?

2. Aver operating hours per day for maintaining at 25-26?

3. Noise level acceptable?

:thanks:

(btw, the peltier technology is the old old model...we are looking at compressor model now.)

Just to up-date you guys over here. The misinformation on the copper leaching in Eido chiller was brought up over here and was being discussed at "Marine Aquarium Equipment" (http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?act=ST&f=17&t=5549&st=#).

There are some misinformations on the Eido chiller that have been circulating in the market. It is about time to come out in the open to clarify all the misinformations. We will tackle all issues one by one so as not to bore you with too lengthly explanations. The first issue to kick off is........

Quote : "I heard that ***o* got problems with copper leaching... "

That really got me stupefied. The exchanger is not made of copper or copper nickel nor is it epoxy coated material. How could there be copper leaching when the exchanger is made of non-copper based material be true? There is absolutely no water contact with any copper whatsoever in the exchanger.

If it is true, there would be loud market reverberation on this issue.

We have many current customers who have bought the GLX chiller models can vouch for it. It is safe for use in your aquariums.
