Resetting my fowlr tank due to ich

Hi all,

It has been a traumatic 3 weeks for me. From having almost 10 fishes to only 6 now. Have learned it the hard way that if u do not qt ur fishes.. Ich will find a way to ur system some how. Another problem is.. Once I realised my powder brown had ich.. First mistake is to hastily set up a qt tank with a filter that is not cycled but using the display tank water. The fishes did OK at first as the water was from dt.. But as the copper treatment progressed.. And I did water changes along the way with freshly made rodi and salt.. Problems with ammonia and nitrite starts.. 2nd mistake is to have copper treatment in a tank that is not cycled yet as nitrite bacteria couldn't really form fast enough. Currently using cuprasorb to remove the copper as I would want to establish my filter first. Now the copper levels are down and almost gone. 3rd mistake no airpump.. Couldn't figure why my fishes started to die one by one until I realise it's oso oxygen issues. I even installed a chiller for them. Currently they are on prazi gold and methylene blue treatment. However have lost a majestic today (due to my blue face angel bullying and fin rot)

Anyway after listing down my mistakes. Hope new qt beginners will be able to find Smth useful and to avoid losing ur beloved fishes too. It's painful I swear.. Criedddddd as they re like my babies T. T.. On a lighter note.. Have prepped my 5 ft tank for the remaining survivors to go in once I do another round of cupramine treatment for them(never can be too safe.. Ich is really a survival machine)

Can anyone tell me if my rocks are too cluttered? Also attached a photo of my qt tank with my current fishes now80d35859b66a881e9440a23c50a9535e.jpgdba35199784c1a56fd8d88d4c2fdd4fa.jpg

Thanks for the insight too maybe I m jus a bit ocd. Can't stand the thought of a parasite still hanging around in my tank waiting for opportunities to strike. Anyway I saw this on a Reef site and find it quite true : 11. Just feed the fish well and/or feed it garlic and it will be okay. Untrue. I compare this approach to this one: "Granny has pneumonia. Let's keep her home rather than take her to the hospital. We'll feed her well with chicken soup and vitamins." :bugout: Nutrition, foods, vitamins, etc. don't cure an infected fish. An infected fish is sick and is being tortured by the itching and discomfort. It might pull through and obtain Resistance or immunity (see above) but while you sit comfortably in your home, the fish is being stressed by having to contend with a parasite. Don't let this happen to the fish. Cure it!!

How long is yr tank being cycled? Dont just take test kit to determine. Cycle longer. Apart from picking heathy specimen, spread yr introduction of new fish. Not all fishes are required for QT in my personal experience as it can further stress fish.
