Ur salinity too low. Increase it till the floting meter is at the green zone.

Looks like the overflow from the hang on filter is pushing the hydrometer down.....low salinity shouldnt cause fishes to die and since he still has a coral alive then should not be salinity problem

Fresh water and salt water tanks are completely different setups.

Hang on filter is not enough, you need proper water flow, skimmer, temp control (very important with corals, less with fish only), etc'

Do yourself, your wallet, and the poor fish a big favor and look for a 2nd hand tank, which is built for marine fish, with proper equipment, read a lot and do it properly, there is not way to make shortcuts, although many of us try and end up frustrated.

Good luck

Does the new tank set come with chiller? Bacteria is very important in the tank and also skimmer too. With a proper skimmer there will at least be air circulation and it will remove unwanted waste or organic matter which will harm the fish.

Try using natural sea water first instead salt mix.
