Well, since I always find myself thinking about my Reef tank during boring school lessons and lectures, I've kinda become curious to know how many reefers here are like me and have had their hobby affecting other aspects of their life..

Mine will be both 2 and 3, i am addicted and going broke... now my girlfriend complains i look at my fish more than i look at her.. but you do get a great sense of satisfaction out of this hobby... and erm... i gotta learn to strike a balance soon before she comes at me again! heeheehee...

Woah guys, thanks for the many votes!! This is like the best forum ever!! Heh.. Well I'm really glad to see that many bros out there 'suffer' the same 'condition' as me and can't stop thinking about our reef tanks and spending cash upgrading it!

Yeah I'm always broke as well trying to give my fishes a better life.. And well, thank God for responsible Reef keepers like the people who visit this forum who bother to find out the truth about proper saltwater aquarium care (unlike many LFS owners!!) and who are willing to spend some money to give their fishes a better life.

We all fall victim to the beauty of the reef tank, The danger happens when you lose control. Like any addictions, this hobby can affect your life for the worse.

I've seen people change, become selfish and self-serving, become conniving and deceitful, become greedy and rude to one another. I've heard of people cheating, lying and stealing to sustain their hobby. I've heard of relationships suffering. I've seen people going broke because they spend without thinking. All these are true,

Find the balance between going overboard and achieving your dream tank in due time. Don't neglect your studies, your famiy life, your career because of anything, much less reef-keeping.
