I just thought it's weird because if I am a good friend of someone who owns an LFS shop, it's funny that I praise another rival LFS after playing a "name-marring" joke on him two days before...

Anyway, Vicky, dun get worked up.... When I add to this thread, I meant it as a belated April's Fool Joke to you...

Sad to see him go... BTW, I used to work for the zoo till the new *(&*(&*#@*$( )&#@**(# @ *(#&$@(*)&$#(@$#@ management took over....

Yup.... He's probably grief-stricken with the management change... :lol::D:lol:

Sad to say, a lot of really good staff has left... either retrenched, or those who weren't couldn't bear the change had left on their own... too corporate they said, unlike the family fun style it previously had...

It's funny how they are going to run the zoo like a money-churning corporate business place... when its supposed to be fun, educational and enjoyable for both staff and guests.... even my regular zoo-loving friend who were there recently says that the "feel" is different now and has lost its past appeal...

See the newpaper, its also ironical that they have to cut back on renumeration expenditure and ask for a retrenchment. At the same time, they hired an expatriate curator (I suspect with higher salary + perks...). What more, I was told that they hire "khakis" who hasn't been in the zoo business before... :(

Yup, move on... and my condolences to the chimp for doing such a noble act to show his unhappiness... :peace:

BTW, are you guys aware that the zoo has increased its entrance fees or is going to?

Also, my friend who is a teacher told me that many schools are cancelling all their zoo activities for the whole year cause now they charge like $8-10 per kid?!? Used to be like only $1 - $2 just for administrative charges and as a token... She said it was really a shock to the principal... and they are still puzzled why the zoo charge such high pricing even though it has an educational obligation to serve the public...
