Running two skimmer

Hi just to check if any reefer run two skimmer together ?

thinking to add one more or change the existing skimmer to a bigger one

While it may not cause much issues, not sure of the benefit as 1+1 here does not equal 2. better do it right and if needed and upgrade the skimmer.

Seen quite a few topics on this locally and overseas and seems not a good idea. Beside creating more oxygen which is beneficial it doesn't skim more rubbish out of the water. I would personally go for a bigger skimmer if your sump allows. Or else it is just competition between the 2 skimmers and worst both not performing because not enough rubbish!!

Imho I feel waste of space. The extra space add bio media better.

Upgrading to a bigger skimmer will skim more effectively as its producing more fine bubbles and larger volume

1 + 1 no benefits. The air intake about the same means the skimmers will be competing against each other. Might as well get 1 skimmer with very high air intake.

1 bigger skimmer is definetly better for me unless the 2nd skimmer is for other purposes beside skimming primarily.
