Hood suggestion

Hi guys. Recently I wanna make a new hood. Main reason is to prevent my fish from jumping out. My tank is a braceless one.

i was thinking to put egg crate into the hood. And to put a light inside. 

My tank maker ask me to design it.

what u guys think

if you have an egg crate between the water and the light then it will block much of the light. not recommended

Recommended to have glass or clear acrylic...

You can DIY one with fine netting & aluminum profile. My previous tank was braceless & you just need to make the size the aluminum profileto sit on the edges.

Netting - Can get the thicker clear type from https://aquariumoverload.com/pages/clear-mesh-aquarium-tops

Alternatively, the type i'm using is a very fine black one which i think works better than a thick clear type. I have some spare to that I can sell. Can PM me if keen.

I'm thinking of arcylic. But how should I design the hood so that I can hold the arcylic and the light
