Give it a day or two perhaps... but for me last time I just dumped everything in..

Laid out the new sand, then moved the old LR over, then threw in some old water, poured the old sand in, then moved all the LS over... all in the same day... don't think I lost anything but seriously.. not worth the risk.. for me it was just moving the shrooms, a clown and and an algae blenny...

I had no choice... some technical problems caused me to do it at the same time.. but if you can I suggest u wait a while just in case...

Oh BTW, I had my sump moved over also... with active macroalgae, so maybe that cushioned the blow...

Cycle the new tank with watever new stuff u puttin in (eg. LR, new or new and matured sand). After cycling is complete (test water parameter), perform waterchange of 30-40%.

Let the tank settle for 2-3days and test water parameters again.

If ok, mix 70% old tank water with 30% new tank water in a container and transfer ur LS into the container, in the meanwhile make sure container water is not stagnant> a powerhead will do the trick.

If old tank is 50gal, then remove 50gal from new tank first. Transfer the old tank water into the new tank and u can then do the transeferin and rescaping. Once its dn, u might wanna do a test to chk whether u create any mini cycle due to ur rescapin work....everythin ok then ur LS can go into the new tank. If not, let the mini cycle u created complete before puttin in the LS and u have to be hardworkin abit doin partial water change for ur holdin container. ;)

Not putting anything new inside... Cos the tank size is the same... Lol... Will test the water before adding the livestock in...

Same size eh  ...anyway once u disturb ur sandbed then tats it...as good as cyclin. Either u do it wat i mentioned or have ur LS taken out into a tub/container. Transfer ur sand, LR and water over to new tank....let it settle dwn and test water parameters. Ok, perform water change and intro ur LS in. If not, it may take couple of days for the mini cycle to complete....and in the meanwhile u have to perform daily water change for ur holdin tub and provide water circulation.

Goodluck

Same size eh...

Cos i find the filtration in my current nano not sufficient cos only a small internal filter... Having a IOS would be better... LOLz....

But the cycle would be shorter... Right...

Hey I also have the same problem of filtration. Now considering to change my tank to 1 with overflow and sump. Did you relocate the tank, or placed the new tank at the same location?

Sorry if I :off: .
