If it's a small tank, watch your alkalinity levels also when dosing lanthanum chloride.

For a small tank I would not recommend the use of lacl as like what someone mention it is too risky. Overdose could wape out the tank, there is many other cost effective method to control p04 in a small tank.. I.e; phosguard, rowaphos, poly filter ect..

Is the tank new? Is there any dead fish or dead coral in the tank? Or many left over foods? Tank over loaded with livestock?

Try to do major water change eg 40% once a week till ppm drop, suck up left over foods on the floor and don't over feed.
