Windfatty
Usually about 12hr than I put into main tankSent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app You need at least 36 hours before you do water change. 12hours is too short even you are using dechlorin. Especially tap water. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

Windfatty
Make sure to use air pump to run the water. The air bubble can help export out the chlorine. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

Ok i will take note thank Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app If your dechlorinator is sodium thiosulphate based (which most of them are in the first place), then it shouldn't take more than 5 mins to dechlorinate. But if the dechlorinator contains only sodium thiosulphate and nothing else, this would only remove the chlorine part in the chloramines and ammonia will be left behind. More time is then required to remove the ammonia. So really, depends on the type of dechlorinator you're using. However, since you said you're using kent marine's detox, I would be inclined to think that 12 hours is more than enough to remove both chlorine and chloramines. Not sure what any additional time is supposed to do.
SRC Member yukok.lim08 Posted April 10, 2017 SRC Member Share Posted April 10, 2017 For my own experience the dechlorine took less than 5 min and i start mix salt and perform water change later. Btw i am using prime. The one time that i have some condition is the sequence. I fill the pail with tap water, add prime to de chlorine. Notice water not enough so i add tap water again. Fish behave weird , hide in behind and bottom tank, i direct put prime into tank and fish normal again. Just my own experienceSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SRC Member andrwsaurus Posted August 29, 2017 SRC Member Share Posted August 29, 2017 Invest in an RODI unit and you will see a huge change in your entire tank.
