em.. DSB in the sump or display?

IOS ? Instant Ocean salt?

depending on the gain size .. 4" is the minimum

assuming u've DSB in the sump and u r disturbed by the sight of detritus.. given enough time, pods & spaghetti worms would clean them up, disturbing the sandbed would be detrimental to sandbed critters

The maxijet will be able to move even #3 sand directly in front of it and on the opposite side near the glass where the current is deflected. It's not feasible to fit a PH to remove detritus because it will stir the substrate too. Indirect current is prefered.

Tanzy,

What about reeftec ? Thinking of having one for my 4 2 2 as currently do not have any PH (other than the sump return outlet)to create current. :thanks:

Go for it! Get 2 reeftecs! You won't regret it, unless you compare aesthetics to a Tunze Stream. :eyebrow:
