Electric tariff increased to approximate 16 cents per KWH with effect this month. I just did a calculation on my marine tank electricity comsumption.

pump for skimmer - 35watts running 24 hrs

pump for water circulation - 25 watts running 24 hrs

lightings - 72 watts running 12 hrs

round off to 100 watts running 24 hrs.

Wow cant imagine i got to pay $11.50 electricity per month just for the marine tank alone.

Your $11 not even enough for my oversize Calcium Reactor pump.........man are you seriously not aware of $$$$ involve in this hobby........we have yet to add in the return pumping, chiller & lighting + circulation pumps = $ 3 digit!
