SRC Member clowntrigger Posted April 1, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted April 1, 2004 it will be good if you can tell us how you setup your tank. We need to know how you do your biological filter. Do you have Deep Sand Bed? Do you have coral chips in your main tank, in your sump? Do you use bio ball? Do you do nutrient export in terms of prunning macro algae? What type of skimmer are you using? With the above details provided in detail, I believe people will be able to help you. Else it will be telling people I have a problems, please help.... SRC Member tigershark Posted April 3, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted April 3, 2004 how old is your tank? how frequently do u feed your fish? how much did you feed? how deep is your DSB? anything died in your tank? how long did you cycled your tank? what kind of fish do you keep and what is the size? the fastest and most effective solution is adding good quality active carbon to remove the ammonia so that it wont convert to NO2 then, NO3 for a mid/long term solution,u might want to keep some maco algea in your sump to absord some of the NO3..... personally,i dun think 25ml/L of NO3 is very serious..... when you cahnge water, try to change ard 20%~30% if you really want to see the diferrent in NO3, changing only 5%/week of water doesnt bring down the NO3 by too much unless u use distille water for your SW mix...
