Just to let you guys know... the Teco RA680 is phased out from the market already.

The old design has the fan blowing out in front. The new one, redesignated as Teco TW6, has the same specs but now the fan is blowing hot air out the back. The front still has the water inlet and outlet there.

With the current high Euro dollar.... Teco prices are adjusted accordingly.

The distributor is selling RRP (recommended retail price) at : $1985.

Anyone interested, can PM me.

Ong, why don't you do a review for the EIDO chiller... in the Product Review section?

EIDO chillers uses Peltier technology and is not very efficient in waarm countries as it depends on ambient temperature for its operation. It requires a cooler ambient temperature as it depends on the fan to carry away heat from the heat sink surface. The refrigeration efficiency is lower than conventional gas refrigerant method in short it uses more power to cool down your tank versus a conventional chiller.

Mmm....why Teco no update their website to reflect the new model.

Achilles, where you got the news from. Does the new series have the model identical to RA2000 now? Price? Thanks.... :D

Dunno why they didn't update the site.

The news is direct from the authorised distributor in SG... so its reliable news.

So if anyone interested in the TW6 (old 680), can PM me as I can get special pricing for Singapore Reef Club members only!

Here's the Teco website and a chart to help you quick select the model and the effective performance vs volume, ie. don't get a under-powered unit as it will be running all the time.

Teco chiller selection chart

The main website is www.tecosrl.com

  • 2 weeks later...

how does the chiller work ?

like, if i set to 25 degree and the motor will run up to 25 degree and stop right ! now the temperature will slowly go up and the motor will then start to run up to 25 degree again.

what i want to know is , at which degree will the motor start running again 26 or 27 or 28 .............???

thanks

robert

It depends on the hysteresis set by the manufacturer. For Teco chillers you can set it through the programming function. If the hysteresis is set at 1 degree then the motor will start running again at 27 if the temperature is set at 26.
