venturi driven and NEEDLE WHEEL

hi bros, happen to notice that there is actually 2 kind of skimmers..the Needle wheel and venturi driven.. which is the better 1? or each has its own purpose?

Same purpose... but generally the needle wheel ones have a better reputation...

needlewheel produces much finer bubbles as compared to a venturi one....normal brands are H&S and deltec, which are also much much more expensive....

the venturi kind is not as good, to create more bubbles u need a pump with higher flowrate, this means contact time with bubbles will be lesser.....however, this is one of the cheaper and more realiable kind in the market...try your best not to get a woodstone kind, very troublesome...

if u have the money, invest on a H&S are even beta, a beckette kind....i believe there are lotsa DIYers who will be willing to help....
