Purple firegoby - Am i lucky to have a pair

Recommended Posts

yes, fire gobies might be aggresive towards the same species but there might be exceptions.

one rule i stay to is never to trust any LFS. livestock there might seem peaceful because the fishes are under stress and do not show their true colours. it is better to read up before you buy anything.:lol::lol:

But if you tame me, we shall need each other.

To me, you will be unique in all the world.

To you, I shall be unique in all the world...

You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.

I haven't much experience with Nemateleotris but I believe they are known to be intolerant to their own kind and in the wild the are found in pairs.

Which pretty indicates that you might have a pair, but not necessarily mated, unless they breed, which is uncommon.

I've had a purple firegoby and firegoby living together peacefully for months. Recently the purple firegoby gained some size...and has since been wacking the daylights out of my firegoby. If they are adults pretty probably you have a pair. Hard to confirm if they are juveniles.

Always something more important than fish.
